Preferred Band/Artist: BlackByrd

Now you're living out there on your own
You couldn't find that peace of mind that
Would've brought you home
And you're figuring out what it's like
To be all alone
And you shuffle round the yard
Talk in circles to heal these scars
And wish around the hourglass
That these days were gone

As I wonder now if you forgot the world
I never knew I'd see that day
How you've grown little girl
Like a rug, your life laid flat
As if it were unfurled
And you glance up at the stars
Wish that you knew your father
And know that in your heart
You're worth more than pearls

Oh now, father dear, what's there to say?
I wish you had an explanation for
why you ran away
Like a road that leads you home
And a sunset that sways
You wonder, should you run?
Fire that bullet from your gun?
Or find your peace and find release
Until your dying day

I don't know if I can live this way
This country life and married wife
Is why I ran away
If I knew her words were turned
And if she had her say
With haste I would return
Unto all my bridges burned
And I'd beg to you and pray, my dear
And ask for you to stay
