The UFS Cluster on Sustainable Development and Poverty Alleviation is hosting a two-day Small Towns Symposium, in Bloemfontein, on 30-31 October 2013. Please see the Call for Presentations. The Symposium will be relevant to researchers working in a wide range of disciplines and sectors.
Also see information on the first “Karoo Parliament”, to be held in Phillipstown (Northern Cape), on 11 October 2013. This will be an opportunity for “development practitioners” in Karoo towns to showcase their practical achievements. This will help us to understand the assets, strengths and dynamism of small towns. You can find the tentative draft programme here.
The Karoo Parliament is complementary to the Small Towns Symposium, and both events will be useful to researchers.
Please consider attending one or both of these events, and/or giving a presentation at the Symposium.
