V.S. Pritchett Memorial Prize 2014

The Royal Society of Literature is delighted to announce that we are now accepting entries for the sixteenth V.S. Pritchett Memorial Prize. The prize is awarded for the best unpublished short story of the year.  The judges for this year are Margaret DrabbleTibor Fischer and Helen Oyeyemi. Please find the entry form attached. 

There is a prize of £1,000, and the winning entry will be published in Prospect online and in the RSL Review. In addition to this, there will be an opportunity to appear at a RSL event with established short story writers in autumn 2014. In order to be eligible for the competition, stories must  be 2000- 4000 words, have not have been published previously, or broadcast in any other medium. Entrants must be citizens of the UK, the Republic of Ireland or Commonwealth countries or have been resident in one the aforementioned countries for the past three years.
