Using the Pen for Justice: How writers transform society

On Saturday 29 March, journalist and radio personality Nancy Richards will be in conversation with four authors around the theme “using the pen for justice, how writers transform society”.

Participating authors are:

  • Brandan Reynolds, cartoonist for Business day, Weekend Argus and Rapport.
  • Anastasia de Vries, author, academic, journalist and former books editor of Rapport.
  • Karin Schimke, poet, journalist and books editor at the Cape Times.
  • Izak de Vries, author and publisher.

It takes place at Bibliophilia, 48 Albert Road in Woodstock, from 14:00 – 16:00. A suggested donation of R75 will be payable at the door. Snacks and home-made ginger beer are included in price.

The event is organised by Crossing Bridges Africa, a justice-conscious organisation working to integrate people of different cultures.
